probably because Summer is too chaotic and I never have time to blog, or when I do have time, I forget! :/
Recently, we took a trip to the golden state of California! It was a nice get a way and fun to see some of Dan's family members I hadn't met.
The drive up was gorgeous! I LOVE Lake Tahoe-which happens to be in Dallin's mission...I hope he gets to go there!!
First stop was San Jose! We stayed with one of my mother in laws triplet sisters-she's a hoot!
They had just bought a lake house on the delta, so we spent a lot of time boating, laying out, and swimming!
Dan's cousin got a paddle board for her birthday, and unfortunately all the pictures of that beauty is on Dan's phone...but it sure was FUN! It's like a surf board that you stand up on and paddle around...I felt like Pocahontas when riding it...which was awesome! :)
My FAVORITE part of the trip was the BEACH! We didn't get to spend too much time there, and if we were to re-do this trip, that's where the majority of it would be...but it was still fun!!
I love, love love, did I mention I LOVE the beach!
Growing up being only 20 minutes away from the coastline, my parents would pack a ton of food, blankets, toys, and towels, grab all of us kiddos and go to the beach almost every weekend! That was totally normal to me. I could spend all day and night at the beach, so I was more than THRILLED to be there again!
Santa Cruz's waves are kind of lame and weak sauce compared to Los Angeles' Zuma beach 20 footer plus waves..but I'll take it!
It sure was beautiful though!
We then headed up north to Lake Oroville to visit my mother in law's other triplet sister. She is also a hoot! We spent the 4th out on the lake, and saw an amazing firework show...which my camrea totally sucked at capturing!
| The view each night was BEAUTIFUL!!! |
| all the sudden there were like a million boats coming from all different directions to watch the fireworks! |
Dan, his twin brother Matt, and I somehow got voted to sleep on the houseboat for 2 nights.
I guess they didn't want anyone messing with their boat...I dunno...all I know is after 3 STRAigHT days and 2 nights of being on that boat, and I got off and immediately wanted to puke my guts out!
The rest of the trip was downhill from there. Unfortunately, the sea sickness didn't go away and the ride home was miserable...just thinking about it makes my stomach churn!
But all in all it was a good get away! I'm glad I got to visit my birthplace of California! I told Dan, next time we will be taking a drive down South, making stops in Fresno and LA to take a walk down my memory lane! :)
Good trip, Good memories...but glad to be home! :)

I totally used to have that bathing suit, and you look gorgeous in every picture! Looks like fun!!
