Inevitable change

Change is a constant.

Change is inevitable.

in fact, the only thing constant about change is it's never constant
especially in my profession...

last week I found out that there would be a reduction in staff at my elementary school
there are not enough students coming up in the 4th grade to keep all the current teachers

I'm the newbie

I'm out.

At first I couldn't believe this was happening to me.
How could I be back in the job hunt after only one short year...
and for a reason that was completely out of my control

I love my school, the staff, my class, but after a lot of praying, I knew a big change was to come,
and it was ok.

Today I accepted a job at Silver Crest Elementary teaching.....

FIRST GRADE!

Fourth to first at this time of the year is basically like going from 5th graders to kindergartners.
.........
That's a huge jump. I'm nervous, I hope I can do it.
I have a long summer ahead of me, reorganizing everything, getting acquainted with a new curriculum, collecting number lines, and alphabet cubes

Although change is hard, stressful, and at times, just a big pain in the butt,
it's good for you.
It stretches you.
It turns you into the person Heavenly Father intends you to be.

John F. Kennedy once said,
"Change is the law of life.
And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future."

The future is bright..i mean, check out this brand new school I get to work at
(which just happens to be 2 minutes from our house!!)

pretty nice eh??
Wish me luck....

  1. GOOD LUCK! You will love it! I taught first grade and had a blast. They are still at the age where learning is exciting and they think you're the coolest teacher ever. :)
