Wow!
This weekend has been wonderful! I've needed every word that has been spoken in Conference!
It blows my mind how much the church as grown since the early days of the few hundred pioneers crossing the planes, to now millions of people tuned in to hear the prophet speak.
The highlight of Conference this Fall for me has truly been how cute and lovable President Monson is!
You can't help but smile when he gets up to the potium and says:
"Hello!" with his cute little chuckle!
His facial expression were so darn adorable, and the light from his eyes radiate! One cannot look at him and not see that he is a true servant of our Savior Jesus Christ.
The second highlight for me was definetly seeing a familiar face present a beautiful talk on the blessings of missionary work.
A man so dear to my heart, speaking about a subject to tender to me, literally brought tears to my eyes.
No, I didn't attend Priesthood, but I watched President Waddell's talk online this morning and was so deeply touched by his message.
| My first day in Barcelona with Pte. and Hermana Waddell |
Almost everything he said, was a reminder to me of things, and inspiration I heard while serving with him in Barcelona Spain.
One of my favorite zone conference moments, and now conference moments, is the parable of the Lamb's blood and missionary work
The children of Israel couldn't just sacrifice the lamb and be done. They had to APPLY it to their doorways in order for it to be effective.
The same goes with serving a full time mission.
You cannot simply serve a mission and then be done with it.
You must apply the lessons and gospel principals you learned on your mission into your daily lives.
This statement hit me hard on my mission, and again hit me hard this morning.
I could do better.
I think we all could.
That's why listening to conference twice a year is so inspiring.
The gospel is simple, and it seems at times repetitious.
But isn't that how it's suppose to be?
Obviously, we need to hear the same things over and over in order to obtain perfection like our Heavenly Father.
I have been truly, truly, blessed to be able to serve my Lord in a full time mission in Barcelona Spain.
But now I am even more blessed for the lessons I learned, and the opportunity I have to share those lessons with my future family and the people around me.
Like I said, I love conference! Truly inspiring!
I hope you all are having a wonderful conference weekend! I know I am!!
ps...for you ladies out there who didn't go to Priesthood, I would recommend tuning in!
