What being "DRUG FREE" means to a 6 year old...

This week was "Red Ribbon Week" at school

so Thursday, we all sat down and talked about what it means to be drug free

these were some of my students' responses: 

"don't take pills you're not suppose to take"

"don't drink those little tube things"

"don't swear"

"don't use the middle finger"

"don't say the bad ABC words, you know like the "G" word, we're not allowed to say that at home!"

"Don't get bad shots at the doctors"

"say no ALWAYS"

"don't drink coffee"

"don't drink stuff that comes in glass bottles"

and my very favorite...

"Keep the Commandments!"

I probably should have cut them off and redirected their thinking after a couple of these comments,

but it was too funny!
